SIRC Invites Participation in Study on Seafarers’ Health and Healthcare Access

The well-being of seafarers working onboard vessels is a primary concern for the Club. A safe operation of a vessel requires a healthy crew. Therefore, the Club would like to inform our members about a study currently conducted by The Seafarers International Research Centre of Cardiff University.

Their study aims to find out about the health of seafarers and their access to healthcare services while at sea. The research findings will result in recommendations relating to the provision of healthcare for seafarers working in the cruise and cargo sectors, which are intended to assist ports, employers, and governments in improving healthcare for working seafarers.

To learn more about study, visit the research site Seafarers’ health and access to healthcare, where you also access the questionnaires designed for seafarers to participate in the study.
