Supplier Code of Conduct
Introduction
The Swedish Club serves our Members, with the commitment that “we are with you at all times.” As a supplier and vital part of our business chain, your role is essential in upholding this commitment and contributing sustained value to our Members. Our mutual success is built on a foundation of trust, transparency and aligned expectations.
The Swedish Club maintains the highest standards of integrity, responsibility, and professionalism. Guided by our core values—proactive, reliable, and committed—we expect all our suppliers and business partners to uphold these same principles, and not engage in any unlawful or unethical behaviour. The intention with this Supplier Code of Conduct is to ensure that all business is conducted in line with our standards, core values and in compliance with legal and ethical obligations.
Scope
The term “supplier” used throughout this Supplier Code of Conduct includes, but is not limited to, suppliers, business partners and consultants. It applies to all suppliers, as well as to their respective employees and sub-contractors, that deliver goods and/or services to The Swedish Club, our local entities and branch offices.
The Supplier Code of Conduct is a key component of all agreements between suppliers and The Swedish Club, whether formalized through a contract or part of a longstanding relationship. It supplements any additional guidelines or instructions issued.
Compliance with laws and regulations
We require our suppliers to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, relevant to the line of business, as well as any contractual terms and conditions, including this Code of Conduct. The Swedish Club reserves the right to require full transparency and to conduct audits, where legally permitted.
If non-compliance with this Code is observed or reported, The Swedish Club will engage in an open dialogue with the supplier to discuss corrective actions. Repeated or serious violations may result in a change of supplier.
Sanctions
Suppliers must be aware of any economic and trade restrictions imposed by sanctions legislation from states or international bodies. We expect our suppliers to take reasonable measures, in line with the suppliers´ business activities and the sanctions risk carried out by those activities, to detect and prevent breaching international sanctions or being used for the evasion of international sanctions.
Financial Crime
Suppliers are strictly prohibited from engaging in any form of financial crime, which includes, but is not limited to, money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing. Suppliers shall take reasonable measures to ensure that all financial transactions are fully compliant with laws and regulations, with no involvement in financial crime activities.
Fraud
The Swedish Club believes that successful business relationships are built upon a foundation of trust, transparency, and aligned expectations. Suppliers shall not engage in fraudulent activities or any similar unethical behaviours.
Bribery
Bribery and corruption, with the intention of influencing any decision-making, are strictly prohibited in all parts of The Swedish Club´s operations. Suppliers shall not engage in any of those activities. The Swedish Club’s absolute prohibition against bribery and corruption applies, without exception, to all business transactions, in every country, and encompasses all counterparties, including any individuals or organisations involved in business with The Swedish Club.
Labour standards
Suppliers are required to respect and uphold the rights of their employees, including fair wages, safe working conditions, and non-discrimination policies. This includes providing a safe and healthy working environment, by complying with all applicable health and safety laws and regulations.
The Swedish Club has zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and is committed to preventing slavery, forced labour and human trafficking. Suppliers shall therefore not engage in or tolerate forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, or any form of modern slavery within their operations or supply chains.
Conflicts of interest
The Swedish Club is required to identify conflicts of interest, address them appropriately and take measures to prevent their recurrence. To support these actions, suppliers must proactively avoid situations that could create, or be perceived as creating, conflicts of interest that may compromise their impartiality or integrity. This includes ensuring that no actions or relationships influence their business judgment in their dealings with The Swedish Club.
Environmental Responsibility
The Swedish Club encourages its suppliers to minimize their environmental impact by adhering to relevant environmental laws and regulations. Suppliers are expected to take a proactive approach to reduce their negative environmental footprint, manage resources responsibly, and positively contribute to the communities in which they operate.
Confidentiality and Data Protection
Suppliers must respect the confidentiality of The Swedish Club’s proprietary information and any other confidential materials they may access.
In addition, suppliers shall, when processing personal and/or sensitive data, adhere to applicable laws and regulations. The term “processing” shall in this context include collecting, storing, using, and transferring.
Reporting Concerns
Suppliers must report, in a timely manner, any violations of this Supplier Code of Conduct, including any concerns related to modern slavery, human trafficking, or unethical behaviour observed in connection with work for or together with The Swedish Club. Reporting channels will be kept confidential.
Acknowledgment
By engaging with The Swedish Club, suppliers acknowledge and agree to comply with this Supplier Code of Conduct.
This Supplier Code of Conduct may be updated periodically, and suppliers are encouraged to stay informed of any changes.
