VPS Circular – Mediterranean Sulphur ECA
Göteborg:
VPS issued a circular informing about the adopted resolution MEPC.361(79) establishing a Mediterranean Sulphur ECA (Emission Control Area) during the 79th session of the IMO’s Marine Environment Protection Committee. The circular states that: “All ships operating within the Mediterranean Sea are required to only use fuel oil with sulphur content not exceeding 0.10% m/m or use an exhaust gas cleaning system.”
The amendments will enter into force on 1 May 2024.
