Iran Trading – increased limit of fall-back cover
14 April – The International Group has bought “fall-back” cover, which is designed to respond to reinsurance recovery shortfalls that would result from the inability of US- domiciled reinsurers on the Group GXL and Hydra reinsurance programmes to make payments due to the continuing application of US primary sanctions, for the 2016/17 policy year.

29 April – Following the casualty of the MSC Flaminia in 2012 – coincidentally insured by The Swedish Club – the EU has been working on improving coastal states’ willingness to allow place of refuge to vessels in distress. This has resulted in new Guidelines on Place of Refuge.

25 April – In this episode of Shipping Podcast, Dr Tristan Smith talks about the challenges the researchers meet when trying to explain the shipping industry and the mechanisms to the policy makers. 25 April – The Club event is highly appreciated as it is a valuable occasion to discuss and share business knowledge in a relaxed environment.

13 April – The Chairman, Jörgen Almelöv, congratulated Malin Högberg, Claims Executive, P&I and FD&D from The Swedish Club. Malin is fortunate to receive this year’s scholarship for young lawyers and will attend the next CMI conference in New York later this year.
