Setting Sail Towards Excellence
The Tomini Dynasty, a geared Ultramax vessel designed under the SDARI ECO 64 Design, has garnered acclaim since its delivery in January 2018. Renowned for its outstanding performance, environmental efficiency, and a testament to courage and seamanship, the vessel stands as a beacon in the maritime industry.
Green Leadership in Action
Embracing a commitment to sustainable practices, Tomini embarked on a proactive journey to optimize its carbon footprint. Before Tomini Dynasty’s first five-year Special Survey, the in-house specialist team conducted detailed studies and successfully implemented various Energy Efficiency Technologies. These included the Mewis duct, silicon paint on the hull, self-polishing low friction paints, adaptive autopilot, and advanced MAN PMI ACCo and MAN Eco torque systems. Tomini Group remains unwavering in its dedication to leading the way in the green shipping industry, consistently aligning with current and future environmental regulations.
A Heroic Rescue at Sea
Beyond its stellar performance, the Tomini Dynasty made history on 31 March 2023 with a heroic sea rescue. Sailing 60 nautical miles off the East Coast of Malaysia in the Sabah region, the crew displayed remarkable courage and seamanship by successfully rescuing 11 Malaysian nationals, including four men, four women, and three children. Adrift for three days after their boat capsized in Philippine waters during inclement weather, the survivors received immediate medical assistance, food, and accommodation. Collaborating closely with Malaysian authorities and MRCC, the crew ensured the safe transfer of all survivors and their damaged boat onto the Malaysian Naval Vessel “KD Paus.”
Congratulations and Gratitude
We congratulate Tomini for their well-deserved accolades and express our gratitude for an enjoyable evening celebrating excellence and heroism.
