The Swedish Club has entered into Collective Agreements with the two main Oil Spill Response Organisations (OSRO’s) in the United States; MSRC and NRC. These Collective Agreements will enter into force October 1st 2003.

It is our understanding that most of our non-tanker members, where required, already have entered into contracts with one of these OSRO’s. These members can therefore continue working with the OSRO as chosen, but after October 1st 2003, all non-tanker members will be included in the Club’s collective agreements, making individual OSRO Contracts superfluous.

The Club will pay an annual retainer to the OSRO’s for the collective agreements. The Club believes that this will be more cost efficient for the members concerned.

This arrangement is not compulsory. Members using the service of an OSRO, other than MSRC or NRC, are of course free to continue to do so.
