Quote

There have been some new developments since the application of the circular which should be reported to your attention.

Indeed, further to a meeting held between the Port Management and the Shipowners and Ship agents Association of Ivory Coast (UCACI), of which one Ivory P&I is member, on last May 11th 2016, UCACI President negotiated again with the Port management and the fine has been finally reduced from EUROS 3,000 to EUROS 1,500 per stowaway disembarked. For your better information, you will find outcome of the meeting herewith attached.

In order to officially inform the community of the reduction,  a new circular dated 6th of June 2016 has been then issued by the Port of Abidjan. For your perfect knowledge, please find enclosed the original circular and our in-house translation.

This fine reduction will be enforced on next July 15th 2016, meaning that, if any stowaways is disembarked before 15th of July 2016, the first fine of EUR 3000 per stowaway disembarked will then applied and not the new reduced fine amount.
