Reference is made to the Club’s Member Alert of 7 March 2017 informing about a ban for any person – including crew members – from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen to enter the US.

Members are advised that the relevant legislation – Executive Order 13780 – has been temporarily suspended by two Federal courts, with a third expected to rule shortly. Until the legal challenges have been concluded, the Order will remain suspended.

Therefore, shipowners and their crews from the above six designated countries regretfully remain in a state of uncertainty, which will ultimately only be resolved by the conclusion of the various court proceedings, which could make their way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
