The new regulations of the now modified Peruvian customs law have been published on the 26th January 2005, thus the modified law and its new regulations are now fully enforceable.

Important to the maritime community is to remember that:

It is the exclusive attribution of customs in their functions of control amongst others; to order the immobilization, discharge and unpacking of cargo. No other Peruvian authority has this attribution.
