Xavier Villers, Head of Marine at Miller Insurance Services, entertained the audience at The Swedish Club’s AGM with a roll call of game changers throughout the history of insurance. He started the ball rolling with the Emperor Justinian, who effectively recognised the concept of marine insurance, when he codified all of Roman law in 533 AD.
