Seasonal threat to ships transiting upper Texas Coast and Gulf of Mexico
2 May – The following information has been issued for the upper Texas Coast and Gulf of Mexico, indicating a significant risk to the cooling water systems of Vessels operating in and about Southeast Texas as well as Southwest Louisiana and elsewhere in the Gulf of Mexico.

UPDATE: Groundings at main channel “Paso Cortada Isla Nueva
3 May – As from 18th April 2017 the Navigational Authorities established as main channel the “PASO CORTADA ISLA NUEVA” which goes from Km 335 to Km 345 of the Parana River, replacing the previous one which was round the island.

He immediately informed the chief officer about the smoke and tried to reach the area where the smoke was coming from with a fire hose, but could not reach it…

A medal-winning performance
15 May – When the 168-metre long, 20,615 dwt container ship TS Taipei suffered engine failure in a strong storm and was blown aground 300 metres away from a scenic beach off Shimen, Taiwan in March 2016, the stage was set for what could have been an incredibly expensive and catastrophic outcome.

The importance of internal anti-corruption guidelines
17 May – Following a four year investigation the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and Rolls Royce entered into a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) approved by the Queen’s Bench Division on 17 January 2017.
