The Club’s Organisation
We are a team-based organisation with a focus on top-class quality
The Swedish Club is a leading marine mutual insurer, headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden and with offices in some of the world’s strategic shipping centres. The Club is a genuine mutual organisation focusing on marine safety and loss prevention.
Our members are an international community of front-ranking shipowners who believe quality comes first. Every member has met our demanding conditions of entry. You cannot meet these standards without total commitment to quality. In return, we provide insurance services of the highest quality; our members’ premiums do not subsidise owners operating to lesser standards.
Mutuality means that the Club’s interests are identical to the members’ interests. Our mutual aims include the safe and pollution-free operation of vessels.
The membership of The Swedish Club is a real community, actively engaged in sharing operational experience in the crucial areas of marine safety and loss prevention. The Club acts as a facilitator in these areas, coordinating initiatives that benefit all members.
Our Teams
Five designated teams are responsible for relationships with members of all classes of insurance offered by the Club within their geographical areas.
The teams are fully functioning integrated units, having all the necessary resources to deliver world-class quality in:
- P&I,
- FD&D,
- H&M and
- Loss Prevention services
Member focus is always the priority, and specialist competence is available across the teams.
